Be The Parent You Want to Be

Mothers With Babies

Being the parent of new baby can be amazing, challenging, stimulating, mind-numbing, joyful, frustrating - or simply put, many things all at once!

Enjoy Your Baby is a 5-session parent-baby course specifically designed for parents navigating the postpartum stage.  Learn from a Certified Facilitator about skills, strategies, and resources to build a close connection with your baby, while caring for your mental well-being. Connect with a community of other parents on a similar journey!

No referral necessary.

The Canadian Mental Health Association, BC Division holds the exclusive Canadian license to Enjoy Your Baby, a Living Life to the Full course.

TIME: 10:30am - 12:30pm

Have time to settle in, interact, learn and socialize with other parents with babies. 

DATES: Fridays April 10, 17, 24,  May 1, May 8 2026

LOCATION: Semiahmoo Library; 1815 152nd Street

Join us in the ever-popular baby story time Meeting Room at your local library.

COST: FREE

While we do ask for a $15 refundable deposit to secure your spot, this course is at no cost to you.

Led by your certified EYB facilitator, the Enjoy Your Baby group is a fun, interactive, and non-judgmental space where you can bond with your baby and other parents who "get it." In addition, you can expect to:

Please note:  Enjoy Your Baby is a mental health promotion and skill-building educational course.  As such this course is not suitable for those participants who are actively experiencing thoughts of suicide, have suicidal behaviours, are experiencing psychosis or who have mental health diagnosis requiring more substantive care.

Leanne Fessler M.A., R.C.C

I'm an experienced therapist who has worked with a diverse client population in private practice, non-profit, university and community settings. My work has been expansive, including years as a child and family therapist, alongside providing therapy to adults and couples.

I have extensive specialized training and experience working with reproductive, perinatal mental health and parent concerns and have founded multiple community-based initiatives for prospective, expecting, and new or early years parents.

I take special interest in working with parents and parent-to-be, those impacted by anxiety, infertility challenges, women navigating life and health transitions, and healthcare/other helping professionals. 

I have additional specialized training in treating anxiety and depression (multiple approaches including CBT), trauma (somatic and EMDR approaches), grief and loss, child/youth therapy, expressive arts approaches, parenting and couples (Relational Life Therapy and Gottman BBH).

Kristen Klassen R.N.

Registered Nurse

I am a mother of two young adult children with a passion for supporting new parents.

 

As a registered nurse, I have over 20 years' experience providing care for those during pregnancy and postpartum.

 

I am also a current Master of Counselling student at City University, Vancouver. I look forward to being a co-facilitator for this group and learning alongside you.
