IN-PERSON THERAPY THAT BRINGS OUT THE BEST IN YOU

There are times when we feel as though we've reached "that point." The point where our mind can't come with the solution, our heart hurts, our nervous system is overwhelmed, and we just can't seem to get to where we want to go.  It can feel like a lonely, stuck place... but it doesn't have to stay that way.

"That point" can be your start on a path to meaningful change that connects you with the deeper part of yourself that knows there's another way.

Let's work together to help you get there.

How Does In-Person Counselling Work?

Beginning the therapy process can feel a bit intimidating for many. It helps to know a bit about what you are walking into, how it works, and what to expect.  While some people enter counselling knowing exactly what they need help with, others just know they need something.  Led by guiding principles, high ethical standards, and informed practice, each person's counselling journey will look slightly different. Your process is tailored to your unique needs and situation.  Here's a look at what you may expect generally (please note these stages are not necessarily linear):

Collaborative Discovery

Through information-sharing, we work to get a clearer picture of; the challenges, what's getting in your way, what's the impact of the struggle, and what you'd like to see different.  We also take a look at what you've tried already, what tools/strategies/strengths you bring with you and would be important to gain to help you alleviate suffering and meet your therapy goals.

The Deeper Dive

We work together to increase: Awareness - of internal and external patterns, information you need, blind spots, factors in or out of your control, your thoughts/feelings/beliefs

Connection - with self, others, systems, and resources

Expansion - of possibilities, choices, personal capacity, support networks, skills, tools, & knowledge

Growth through Action

This is where you get to "try on" new perspectives, emotions, patterns, ways of being, coping strategies, habits, skills to utilize with yourself or in relationship with others, etc - in a way that feels supported and doable.

While much of your growth can happen internally and inside the therapy room, we also explore how to take all that you are learning out into your world to produce real, sustainable change.
